With a Lot of Help from the Volunteers
By Robin Dawson

The Beatles ask, “How do I feel by the end of the day?”  Well, according to most of the site directors at each of the seven facilities, “Worn out!”

“Do you need anybody?”  “H-E-double hockey sticks YES!”

“Could it be anybody?”  Absolutely not!  Not just anyone can get everything done just so, and in just the nick of time to make things run so smoothly that most of the players are surprised to hear this whole tournament doesn’t just fall together on its own.

It’s all of you who are working so hard behind the scenes that make the scene seem almost serene.

On behalf of all the players participating in the 3.5 & 3.75 Men’s and Women’s State League Championships in 2008, USTA Georgia sends out a big Thank You to everyone who has volunteered their time to make this such a great event.

Randy DuTeau, Event Manager for the Greater Augusta Sports Council, volunteers some time to serve up lunch to some hungry tennis players at Newman Tennis Center Friday.
