Rule of the Day

With 91 competitive teams here this
weekend we’re sure to see some tight matches. Those matches are sure
to have some tie breaks. Remember, at six-all in the first or second
sets, a tie break will be played to determine the winner of that set.

Easy enough, right? Well,
just who serves the next game after that tie break? Good question.
Here’s the call: The player
whose turn it was to serve first in the tie-break game shall be the receiver
in the first game of the following set. It is important to remember in
doubles, the rotation of service within each team during the tie break shall
continue in the same order as during the set. Once the tie break is
concluded and the new set is to begin the serving rotation may be altered.
