Tired of those big
chain restaurants? Want to try where the locals go for their favorite
food? Try These.
Even Oprah Goes a Long
Way for a Nu-Way! Oprah Winfrey
declared Nu-Way as being “a pretty good hot dog.”
Nu-Way Weiners
is the second oldest continuously operating hot dog stand in the United
States, and the oldest in Georgia. Nu-Way has long been recognized by
numerous publications as having the best hot dogs in the South, if not the
entire country. Last November, even Oprah Winfrey put Nu-Way on her must
see list while visiting Macon. To see the menu and discover more about the
best little hot dog stand in Georgia, click on the link:

Elaine Malone, formerly of
Del Ray Beach, FL, who should know something about seafood, said:
Jim Shaw Seafood is
GOOD, it’s delicious, it’s good enough to stand in line for!
She added, “It’s not a little hole in the wall restaurant, it’s a big hole
in the wall restaurant.”
Bonnie Smith, local Macon
volunteer suggested that folks with a taste for “something different,” they
should try TicToc, located in downtown Macon. TicToc
features an eclectic menu and over 100 kinds of martinis.
Eric John, Emergency
Medical Technician on duty at JDS, loves the homemade, hand-rolled pizza
from Ingleside Pizzaria. They are the best, and always fresh.
A certain volunteer who
wanted to remain anonymous, said her favorite place was Midtown Grill.
She stressed the good service, good food, and she particularly liked the
good-looking young waiters.
Bonnie Smith added another
local favorite to her list. Back Burner is a wonderful French
restaurant located in an old house on Ingleside Drive. The menu changes
every day, so you never know what you will get.
