Captain Susie
Barnhill, an Atlanta league 3.5 entry, with teammate Melody Glasing,
joined by husband, Scott, and team mascot, Martini,
a Chihuahua who loves tennis. Martini’s name says a lot about this
team from Marietta, GA. |

Marietta’s Princeton
Mill Subdivision (PMS for short) 3.5 team chants: “PMS—We’re the Best” at
Westside HS on a hot Friday afternoon of the 3.5 and 4.0 Low state
championships. “Our men’s team actually has ‘PMS—We’re Outa’ Control” on
their team t-shirts,” enthusiastic Joanne Kraybill reports, “but we prefer
our cheer.”
“We’re
having a ball,” Joanne adds, “Wining and dining, swimming, and playing
tennis. What’s not to like? We’re playing five matches in two days. It’s
great for our game, and it’s great fun!” Joanne says she got laid off, so
she plays tennis now. “My layoff,” she says, “became retirement. Thank you
IBM!”
Teammate
Stacey Andelman, a new addition to the team, says “We lost badly at 1
doubles, but 2 doubles balanced that loss out, winning big. 3 Doubles is
still playing, and singles haven’t started. I think we can pull it off.”
