As a surprise for her
players, Captain Melanie Duckworth drove all over Atlanta to find fuschia
tops for her players to wear during the State Championships in Macon. Why
fuschia you may ask? There is a story.
During the Atlanta City
Finals, the entire team decided to wear black and white. “No way,” said
Kelly Bare. She had just purchased a new fuschia outfit, and she was
determined to wear it. Kelly wore her fuschia, and she was the only player
on the team to lose that day. She lost a second time, and the team began to
joke with her about her outfit. Kelly eventually did win a match, but not
before she took major kidding from her teammates.
Melanie bought the shirts
as a surprise, and now they even have matching fuschia water bottles.
