The Riverview Racqueteers
By Jenna Wright

Traveling from the South Carolina border, the “Riverview Racqueteers” have
prepared themselves both mentally and physically for a hot day of tennis in
Rome. They have high hopes of winning their first 3.0 level State
Championships title. Confident the team would make it to the championships,
one of the members ordered matching outfits so everyone at the tournament
would know and remember who the “Riverview Racqueteers” were. The tank tops
are peach with “RR” embroidered in the top right corner.
The
team was first formed by educators of all different grades. They have
developed close friendships throughout the seasons and continue to add new
members each year. Some of Riverview’s members have participated in the
State Championships with previous teams, but 2008 is the first year for the Racqueteers to make an appearance as a whole.
The
“Riverview Racqueteers” have accomplished all of their wins without any
official coaching. They plan to continue their success by “kicking butt and
taking names,” as one of their team members confidently stated.
